My passion for education lies in creating an environment where students are valued as unique individuals, and where their holistic development and well-being are at the forefront. I strongly believe in fostering a culture of joy for learning and nstilling a lifelong love for education.

As the head teacher at NYsKOOL, my responsibilities include developing teaching methods, designing our curriculum, and making individualised learning plans to meet the needs of every student. Equally as important, my responsibility is to build a team of exceptional teachers who share our vision and values about education.

I have been working as a language and primary school teacher for the last eleven years. I worked as a Spanish teacher at a primary and secondary school in England for four years and Australia for three years. I also worked as an English teacher at a reputable primary and secondary school in Barcelona for four years.

Moving around and working in different environments using a variety of education methods has taught me to be flexible and adaptive. It’s my aim to be up to date with new methodologies and implement them within my lessons. I value working in teams and learning from other teachers. I also appreciate and take into account my students and parents' thoughts. After all, I believe school is a constant interaction between students, teachers and parents and together we form the greatest of all communities.

Where my passion integrates technology and fosters engagement. I call upon my students to use their life experiences and state their opinions. I believe in giving them the life skills they will need.

Fabio - Sesimbra Hub Teacher

I’ve dedicated my career to education, and worked with different age groups in private and international schools, over seven years. My passion for holistic education led me to explore forest schools, where I saw firsthand how nature can spark creativity and promote well-being in children.

I believe that education should be a positive experience for everyone, and I strive to bring this mindset to my students every day. Emotional balance and social skills are key to a well-rounded education, and I place great importance on fostering these qualities in my students. I am deeply committed to helping each individual thrive in a learning environment that values both academic and personal growth.

Andrei - Founder & CEO

AV conference.jpg

I am a serial entrepreneur with degrees in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, an MBA from INSEAD, and a CTO qualification from Berkeley. For the past seven years, I've been researching the Finnish and other successful education models.

When my daughter attended school—a very good British school—I began to recognise the limitations of traditional schooling. The fixed schedule, 25 children learning and doing exactly the same things, the lack of mobility, and the rigid regime all stood out to me. It was then that the idea of NYsKOOL was born.

Kiley - Director, Lisbon

I bring a wealth of experience to NYsKOOL, having worked in PR and Marketing during my years in New York City. Over the past four years, I've been dedicated to building community and creating enrichment classes within Lisbon's alternative learning community. My passion lies in progressive education and child-driven learning. As the mother of an eleven-year-old NYsKOOL student, I understand the importance of personalised, innovative education. I am committed to fostering a supportive and flexible environment where every child can thrive.

July - Lisbon Hub Teacher

unnamed (4).jpg

My name is July, and I have dedicated myself to education, art and expression throughout my professional journey. For over 15 years I have worked in many different school structures - international schools, affective language acquisition, and bilingual education. During those years I went through different roles: class assistant, music and art teacher, classroom teacher, coordinator and finally academic director at Maple Bear Botafogo with over 250 students.

I graduated in Pedagogia at USP, Art and Design at George Brown College in Toronto and took a post graduation degree in Analytic Psychology focusing in Myth, Arts and Stories.

I am a great enthusiast of supporting children to get in touch with their intrinsic motivation. I believe the relationship with the process of learning can expand the growth mindset, authenticity and self-esteem of children.

Karolin - Barcelona Hub Teacher
