Elementary School Teacher

Minna - Head of Education

My name is Minna and I work as a head teacher at NYsKOOL. With over 15 years of experience in education           and teaching, I have had the privilege of working in both primary and secondary schools, as well as in education

administration and supervisory roles.

My passion for education lies in creating an environment where students are valued as unique individuals, and where their holistic development and well-being are at the forefront. I strongly believe in fostering a culture of joy for learning and nstilling a lifelong love for education.

As the head teacher at NYsKOOL, my responsibilities include developing teaching methods, designing our curriculum, and making individualised learning plans to meet the needs of every student. Equally as important, my responsibility is to build a team of exceptional teachers who share our vision and values about education.

Marta - Teacher

My name is Marta Garcia and I am from Barcelona, Spain. I like reading, doing sports and spending time outdoors. I enjoy travelling and getting to know new cultures and traditions. I speak Spanish, English and some French.

I have been working as a language and primary school teacher for the last eleven years. I worked as a Spanish teacher at a primary and secondary school in England for four years and Australia for three years. I also worked as an English teacher at a reputable primary and secondary school in Barcelona for four years.

Moving around and working in different environments using a variety of education methods has taught me to be flexible and adaptive. It’s my aim to be up to date with new methodologies and implement them within my lessons. I value working in teams and learning from other teachers. I also appreciate and take into account my students and parents' thoughts. After all, I believe school is a constant interaction between students, teachers and parents and together we form the greatest of all communities.

I believe the school offers children the opportunity for general education. It guides pupils to find their own strengths and build their future through learning. It is a privilege to see how the children’s futures are developing.

Greetings. I'm Brenda, affectionately known as Teacher Brenda by my students, hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. I have over 25 years experience beginning in a traditional classroom, before moving on to head language programs in language centers, and then finally moving fully remotely about 10 years ago.  I have a lot of experience not only as a classroom teacher but as an author, course creator, curriculum developer, and trainer. You may run across one of my YouTube channels where I host interactive stories or give tips and tricks to teachers and parents.

My journey has continued by my commitment to student’s individual learning styles and various pedagogical approaches. I’ve cultivated and specialise in creating dynamic student centred classrooms. Where my passion integrates technology and fosters engagement. I call upon my students to use their life experiences and state their opinions. I believe in giving them the life skills they will need.

I'm Minna-Maria Karonen, a trainee teacher from Finland. I was one of the pilot teachers during July 2023. The areas I have focused on include: special education, PE and Swedish.

As a teacher my job is to see each student as a unique individual and make learning fun! I believe that the best way to learn is by trying different things for yourself and being active during the lessons. We all have our own learning strategies but as a teacher I'm responsible for helping everyone be efficient and thrive in their own unique way.

Currently pursuing a graduate degree at the UEF, I'm passionate about exploring classroom and school practices worldwide and the philosophies behind them. I also love using art as a valuable pedagogical tool, taking an interdisciplinary approach to enrich my educational philosophy. Through my educational blog, I share insights on these topics. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to present my lessons at NYsKOOL and eager to inspire and get inspired!
